Sew a Door Bow
This decorative door bow is a beautiful and easy Christmas sewing project. With just a few fabric pieces, you can create a large, voluminous bow that brings festive charm to any entryway or living space. Materials
- Cotton or décor fabric (approx. 0.6 m)
- Polyester stuffing
- Matching sewing thread
- Fabric scissors or rotary cutter
- Pins or clips
- Sewing machine
- Hand sewing needle
- Iron
Step 1: Main Bow Piece
Cut:
2 pieces, each 35 cm × 16 cm
Sew:
- Place right sides together and sew around, leaving an opening for turning.
- Turn inside out.
- Lightly stuff with filling – not too firm, and leave the center unfilled so the bow can be shaped nicely.
- Close the opening.
Step 2: Steg (Mittelband)
Cut:
1 piece, 14 cm × 12 cm
Sew:
- Sew right sides together, leaving an opening for turning.
- Turn and topstitch around the edges.
- Wrap around the center of the bow so the short edges overlap slightly at the back.
- Hand stitch to secure.
Step 3: Tails
Cut:
- 2 pieces, each 70 cm × 9 cm
- Cut the narrow ends at mirrored 45° angles.
Sew:
- Sew right sides together, leave an opening, and turn.
- Close the turning opening.
- Pull both tails through the center band from the back and arrange them neatly.
