Everyone crochets a little differently, so aim for an even, fairly firm stitch tension. Stuff the cat carefully so it keeps its shape for a long time.
Stitch markers help you keep track of the beginning and end of each continuous round. Mona the Cat is crocheted in continuous spiral rounds from the start. Repeat the instructions in brackets as many times as indicated directly after them.
Step 1: Crochet 2 arms
Start with white yarn.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc into a MR. (6)

Change color.
From now on, work one decrease in each round. The decreases are placed so that they do not sit in the same spot every time.

Stuff the arms only lightly, especially at the ends. Fold the opening flat and crochet the opposite stitches together with 4 sc. Ch 1, turn the work and crochet another 4 sc.
Cut the yarn and weave in the end. Make 2 arms in the same way.
Step 2: Crochet 2 legs
Start with white yarn.

Attach the safety eyes between rounds 9 and 10. Leave a gap of 8 stitches between them.
Do not forget to stuff the head.
Tip: When stuffing, take small amounts of toy stuffing at a time. Place your index and middle fingers to the right and left inside the opening and distribute the stuffing evenly.

Finish the round with 1 sl st and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Use this tail to sew the head to the body.
Step 7: Sew on the details and finish Mona the Cat
Sew on the cheeks. You can first secure them with glass-head pins to find the right position.
Next, embroider the nose. Shape a small triangle first, then fill it in with additional stitches. Knot and weave in the thread ends carefully.
Now embroider the eyes and sew on the ears
For the whiskers, use two short lengths of regular sewing thread. Position the whiskers with a smaller crochet hook or a sewing needle and knot them in place.
Crochet the small flower crown as follows:
Rnd 1: Work 10 sc into a MR. (10)
Rnd 2: sl st, ch 1, 3 hdc into the first st, sl st into the second st. Continue in the same way: sl st, ch 1, 3 hdc into the third st, sl st into the fourth st, and so on to the end of the round.
Then crochet 30 ch and join the chain with 1 sl st to form a loop. Try it around Mona’s head first to make sure the flower crown fits well.
