​The diagnosis of breast cancer represents an enormous challenge for those affected and causes significant changes to their daily lives. We at Prym are aware of this difficulty and wish to help, by providing an easy Pinktober crochet tutorial.

​CROCHET TUTORIAL

​Drain bag holder

Dimensions 

  • Diameter approx. 9 cm
  • Height approx. 20 cm 
  • Handle 90 cm approx. 

Material:

  • 1 Nova Vita 4 ball from DMC
  • Prym 4.5 ergonomic hook

Base: Make a magic ring and crochet 6 single crochet (dc) in the ring

Row 1: Crochet 2 dc in each stitch (Inc) from the previous row = 12 st

Row 2: Crochet (1 dc, 1 Inc) = 18 st

Row 3: Crochet (2 dc, 1 Inc) = 24 st

Row 4: Crochet (3 dc, 1 Inc) = 30st

Row 5: Crochet (4 dc, 1 Inc) = 36st

Row 6: Crochet 1 dc by stitching into the back thread of row 5

Row 7 onwards: Crochet in a spiral until you reach the desired height (26 rows = approx. 20 cm)

Last row: Make a slip-stitch (slst), remove the hook and insert it into the next stitch from the back, turn the work over, grap the loop and pull it through the stitch then tighten.

Handle:  Make a chain stitch (ch) then crochet 5 dc in 5 stitches of the previous row. Turn the work, make 1 ch then 5 dc and continue for approximately 90 cm.

Last row: Crochet in dc, cut the yarn leaving 15 cm to sew the handle onto the bag - make sure that it doesn't twist 😉
